When you work with Dads’ Consultancy, you benefit from this firsthand knowledge and dedicated focus. In my career, I have:
Been an expert witness in family court: I’ve provided professional social work evidence in many cases, including those about child arrangements between parents (Private Law) and in more serious situations where social services are involved to protect children (Public Law / Care Proceedings). Critically, I have a strong track record of successfully supporting fathers through challenging care proceedings initiated by Children’s Services, helping them make necessary changes and ultimately keep their children safely within the family.
Written countless court reports: This includes many Section 7 reports (the detailed reports CAFCASS or social workers write for the court to help judges make decisions about children’s welfare) and other social work assessments. I know what information these reports need and how they are put together.
Handled CAFCASS Safeguarding Calls: I’ve conducted many of these crucial initial telephone interviews that CAFCASS carries out.
Carried out in-depth assessments: This includes parenting assessments, risk assessments, and general social work assessments to understand family situations and what support is needed to ensure children are safe and well-cared for.
Worked at the ‘front door’ of Children’s Services: This means I was part of the initial response team dealing with new referrals and concerns about children’s safety.
Advised other professionals: I’ve regularly provided guidance to schools, health professionals, and others working with children on how to best support families and safeguard children.
Collaborated closely with the police: I have extensive experience working with police services to protect children at risk, particularly those facing exploitation.
